On-Road Driver Training
On Road Advanced Driver Training
We can deliver this course on either a full or half day basis to either one or two drivers. There are occasions where the 2:1 ratio cannot be applied due to vehicle or insurance constraints. A nationwide network of trainers means training can be provided at most locations through the UK.
A course begins with a one hour Focus on Risk presentation. This provides drivers with an understanding of why they are there, and outlines the key areas that will be of focus throughout the day. This is a ‘classroom session’ which requires a suitable training room area. In situations where a training area is not available, we will arrange an appropriate venue within the local area.
Drivers are required to bring their Driving Licence with them on the day, and will be requested to present the licence for inspection prior to their practical on-road training. In addition to this, drivers will be asked to complete a vision check which involves reading a number plate at 20.5 meter’s - the recognised practice for vision checking.
The remainder of the course is practical ‘on road’ driving where the instructor will assess the driver and work with them to improve their skills and awareness. Other key areas addressed are safe and fuel efficient driving as well as manoeuvring and reversing.
The instructor will complete a final assessment at the end of the course and give a final grading which reflects the driver’s skill and ability in line with HSE guidance.
Courses are flexible and content can be tailored to your individual requirements. This standard course is typically for drivers of cars and LCVs under 3.5T and with under 9 seats. Should your drivers have alternative requirements, please contact Telematics Pro for information on our range of courses; our most popular courses include UK Familiarisation, Post Incident Training, Eco-Driving and various vehicle or site-specific coaching.
When booking the courses we will request a date, venue and the name of the drivers participating in the course. Lead times for booking courses are typically 4 weeks. Our customer service team are always on hand to assist with your enquiries. You will receive an electronic version of the Instructor’s report upon completion of the course. We will review training on a periodic basis and can provide detailed reports on the progress to date.
